Death is inevitable for all of us, but death does not end our existence. We all will spend eternity in either heaven or hell, and what we do in this life only will make the difference.
The Bible tells us that every individual is born with a sin nature and guilty of sin, and as such, we cannot enter into heaven with this sin debt hanging over our heads. As well, we are incapable of paying this sin debt ourselves, nor can we perform enough good works to counter this sin debt. The only thing that will suffice, is the blood of Jesus Christ. He paid our debt when He gave his life on Calvary. After three days and three nights of being buried in a tomb, God raised Christ from the grave, and He lives today, seated at the right hand of God, making intercession for the believer.
Today, He offers the gift of salvation to all who will repent from their sin, believe in Him, and receive it.
I would encourage anyone reading this note, who doesn’t know Christ as your personal Savior, to consider two things. One, life is fragile. No one knows the day when they will draw their last breath, as death has no age limit at either end of the spectrum. Two, know that Christ has promised He will return someday for those that belong to Him, a day that could be any day, maybe even today. On the day He returns, your opportunity to accept him as your Savior will be lost forever. If you would like to accept Christ as your Savior, read on.
First, realize that God loves you.—John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever beleiveth in him should not perish, but have ever lasting life.”
Second, realize that everyone is a sinner; yes, this includes you!—Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Third, realize that sin has a price that must be paid.—Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The price for sin is death, condemnation to hell, but God offers us His free gift of salvation.
Fourth, realize that Jesus Christ died and rose again to pay your sin debt.—Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Chris died for us.”
Finally, pray, ask Jesus Christ to be your Savior, and claim His promise of eternal life.—Romans 10:9,13 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
This prayer of salvation should come from your heart. You can follow a simple idiom of A, B, C. A—admit you are a sinner. This shouldn’t be hard to do, as we all sin. This admission should be coupled with the desire to repent from your sin. Repent means to turn from your sin with the desire to not turn back to it. B—believe God is the creator, Jesus is the Son of God, Jesus died on Calvary for your sin, and God raised Christ from the grave.
Believing is paramount, but the Bible tells us Satan believes also, but he will never go to heaven because he will never repent of his sin and ask God to save him. This is where letter C comes in—call upon God, confess these things about Jesus, and ask God to save you.
If you do call upon Christ to save you, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, drop us a line here.
